What I liked most about "Strange Magic" was that it wasn't like the other "fairy" tales. (Hahha get it... because this one actually has faries in it) Anyway, it doesn't have the fixed characters of heroes and villians. The heroes and villians both go through a change, but they all get their happy endings. It all focuses on Marianne the fairy princess, and how after being cheated on by her fiance, Roland, she promises to "never fall in love again". She changes her whole image, starting with the menacing purple eye shadow. As Marianne changes, she has to go on an adventure to save her sister (Dawn) from the "Bog King", whom has taken her into the dark forest. This all started from Sunny ( Dawn's secret admirer) making a forbidden love potion. She goes through the story with other characters; Roland trying to win her love so he can have an army, and my favorite charcater was the imp, the mouse like creature, who reminded me of the squirrell from "Ice Age". Everything played a part in leading up to Marianne and the Bog King falling in love. This was something I really liked because villians can get happy endings too, and it showded you can find love in unexpected places. The only thing I didn't like about this movie was the lack of information of the Bog King's first love, it didn't really tell much about how he got how he was. Really, if you like other Disney movies like Frozen (a girl changing and locking herself away; falls in love with the wrong guy; falls in love with the unexpected guy;that one funny animal;two sisters), or even the humor in "Ice Age." I think this movie was fun to watch (especially the modern songs) and I would recommend it to someone who wants a quick, adventuress story where several people can be a hero and where you should never judge a book by it's cover.

After a bad experience with a boy she was about to marry, Princess of the Fairy Kingdom, Marianne promises herself to never love again. Of course, the fact that her sister, Dawn, is a little boy-crazy doesn't help her situation. But, when a dwarf decides to venture into the Dark Forest to ask the Sugar Plum Fairy to create a love potion for Dawn, he sends a spiral effect of events. The Bog King, king of the Dark Forest hates love potions, and so is destroying all the primroses used to create the potion. Naturally, he hates that Sunny is trying to get his hands on the potion. And how would he punish the Fairy Kingdom? By taking Dawn, of course. Marianne, outraged that the Bog King would inflict this upon her sister, decides to break her sister out by retrieving the love potion, which the Bog King required. But as she duels with the Bog King, they each learn some unexpected similarities about each other: like how they both hate love. Now, it's up to the two of them to stop the effects the love potion has had on the creatures of the Dark Forest, and Dawn. Is it possible the two could fall for the very thing they hate...love? This was such an adorable, uplifting movie! The animation was stunning, and had such awesome detail. I loved how they incorporated newer, pop songs, along with older songs, that kid's parents will know! Disney (along with Lucasfilm) has done it again!

I love this movie. I kinda will be #straightforward on this. This movies is one the best movies I watched. Has a great soothing plot and everything. Even though it had a lot of singing and the fairies looked like tinker bell, the songs were great and the movie was great. It is about that there are 2 forests (1. Fairy Kingdom 2. Dark Forest) and there are flowers called Prim Roses that go along the border. Marianne is about to go on a wedding with Roland but finds Roland is cheating on her so she cancels to wedding. Her Dawn and Sunny the elf sing together and Sunny ends up in the Dark Forest with a prim rose then gets out hiding the prim rose under a leaf. Then they found out in the Dark Forest that an elf came with a prim rose and so they told their boss who told the goblins to cut down the entire prim rose. Then in the fairyland Marianne and Dawn and Sunny go to the ball and dance (My favorite part where Marianne sings Stronger by Kelly Clarkson madly to Roland and slams him pretty hard.) Roland has a crush on Marianne and Sunny has a crush on Dawn. And they both want them to #like them. So they decide to make a love potion using prim roses. Sunny goes to the Dark Forest with a prim rose with a mouse leading him and sets the Love Fairy free while getting a love potion. At another dance ball, Sunny uses the love potion to Dawn right when the people at the Dark Forest comes to invade them and captures Dawn. Now Dawn is crazy about the Bog King. Dun Dun Dunnnnnnn!!!!!!! What will happen NEXT????????? Find out yourself by watching this awesome movie. BTW my favorite character is Sunny. He is a big laugh and is very humorous to be. This movie is good for many kids and can also turn out to be a great Family Movie. Also, I would say the lesson learned in this movie is don't judge a book by it’s cover. I give this movie a 4.6 star out of 5 stars but I round that too a 5 star and ounce again, this movie was a great laugh and a great movie and I recommend it to people of all ages (#even boys) (like me). Watch!!!!!!!!!

Strange Magic is about a fairy princess named Marianne, who is about to get married to Roland, her soon to be husband. On the wedding day everything is not what it seems. Marianne sees Roland kissing another girl. Distraught, Marianne, tweaks her look just a bit. She become a darker, tougher version of herself. Vowing never again to never fall in love again, she spends all of her time, practicing sword fighting and protecting others from the Dark forest. The Dark Forest is where the Bog King ives. The Bog King doesn't like romance at all. He commands his minions to cut down all the Primrose flowers, the key ingredient that is used to make a love potion. Roland Desperate to get back Marianne, so that he may be royal again, tasks an elf named Sunny, to get a Primrose petal and have the Sugar Plum fairy to make him a love potion. The only problem is that the Sugar Plum fairy is in the custody of the Bog King. Will Roland succeed in getting Marianne back? Will Marianne ever love again? This movie was ok. It was funny but also slow in getting on with the plot. If you have small children, regardless of age, they will definitely love this movie. It also works if you are on a really long plane or car ride. The best part of the movie was the song selection because it offers classics and some new songs, that your parents used to boogie down to.

I just saw the movie last week. It is filled with music - some that I knew and some that my dad seemed to know well! The movie has a great story that I won't spoil. It's filled with adventure and magic! Some creepy looking characters and some very nice ones too make up this animated film. I would suggest it for people who like fairies, goblins and adventure.

Strange Magic is a nice musical adventure based around love and magic. The main character is a fairy who tries to be tough after her boyfriend turns out to have a different personality than she thought. Mixed in with that is a magical potion and fairies. There is also some action(sword fighting, chase scenes), and I think I enjoyed those the most. It is a decent film, but personally, I think it had too many songs and a little too much romance. However, my younger brother saw the movie, and he really enjoyed it. With that in mind, I think that this movie would be good for kids aged 5/6 and up. This movie would also be a good choice for the whole family to watch, as there are many songs (some old, some new) and even some jokes to keep adults entertained. If you like musicals, then this is a great family-friendly one to watch! There is something in it for everyone, no matter what age! (As for my rating, I wish I could rate this movie 3.5 stars, because it was good but not my favorite)

I loved this movie! It is now officially my favorite movie!!!!!! This movie is partly about the fairy's and the goblins "quarrel" (well it is more than just a quarrel) and partly about LOVE, well mostly about love. Here's a preview… Maryanne and Dawn are the two princesses. Dawn is obsessed with boys. Say she likes someone on Friday, but by the time Saturday has rolled around she will change her mind. Maryanne starts out as a lovesick girl. But when she finds out the only reason Roland wants to marry her is to gain the throne, she thinks differently. But something happens after the ball. Roland realizes the only way to get the throne is to trick Sunny. Sunny is an elf who loooooves Dawn. The only way for Roland to marry Maryanne (and get the throne) is to use a love potion on her!!!! The Sugar Plum fairy is locked up in the forest though, and she's the only one who can make the potion. So Roland tricks Sunny into thinking that if Sunny gets a potion made he can use some on Dawn!!!!!! If you watch the movie you'll find out more!!!!!! My favorite parts are when fairies (or anyone) sing. I think the singing is a big part of this movie, it makes me just want to dance!!!! All the music is great! My favorite character is Maryanne because she is NEVER afraid. She always takes risks, and she would probably fight you blind folded as if it is nothing. I also love how the background is so beautiful and it feels real. I hope you like the movie!!!!!!!!

"Everybody deserves to be loved!" There are two kingdoms, the Fairy Kingdom and the Dark Forest Kingdom, that are next together, but does NOT associate with each other....ever. But what divides the two different kingdoms are magical primroses that can be made into a special love position by the Sugar Plum fairy, who is locked in the Dark Forest Kingdom. Meet Marianne, a fairy princess, who is going to marry a "handsome" fairy named Rowland. Marianne wanted to declare her love to him before the wedding day, to give Rowland a buttonaire but she discovers Rowland cheating on her. So now Marianne knows the truth, and promises herself to NEVER fall in LOVE ever again. Rowland was just using Marianne to have an army and because he just wants to have the throne. Later on, Marianne becomes fighting with swords and got tougher, while her adorable sister, Dawn, is boy-crazy. So Dawn and her friend, Sunny discusses who to dance with in the Spring Ball, but was almost eaten by a huge reptile, where Marianne comes in to the rescue. During the Spring Ball, Marianne comes and Rowland gave a surprise visit, and decide to sing her a song... but Marianne slayed him pretty hard, and sang this other song which humiliated Rowland pretty hard.... while on the other hand Sunny is sad because he loves Dawn, but Dawn is crazy in love with multiple and different boys. So Rowland gave an idea to Sunny to go to the Dark Forest to receive the love potion (ALL ROWLAND'S IDEA...HE IS A CHEATER). This will be a hard, enduring adventure, but Sunny befriends an imp and receives the love potion. After this event, all commotion broke loose. On the other side, there is Bog A.K.A "Boggie" who is the king in the Dark Forest, and has many mushrooms and goblins that work for him. After they found out Sunny received the love potion, they had hunted him down, and crossed the Fairy Kingdom... Bog took Dawn(who got sprayed with the love potion and is now in love with Boggie) and asked to receive the love potion back before moon down or else... DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! But the problem is that the imp stole the potion and Marianne is going back to the Dark Forest to retrieve her sister, whether they like it or not. Now seriously what's going on???? How is Dawn going to break the potion???? What is Rowland going to do??? Is Marianne going to find her sister??? Will Bog also like Dawn, or love someone else instead??? Well, it's up to you to finish the rest, by watching the AMAZING MOVIE... Honestly this movie was really... special.... I even watched this movie twice, because I really enjoyed this animated movie.... Shhhh...don't tell anyone, but I enjoyed this film better than Frozen, due to the fact it was more adventurous and had suspense leaking out of you... Don't judge.. but you would understand if you watched this movie! The animated graphics was top-notch and it was really realistic. It was an enjoyable fairy-tale that also had great music.... If you are a music lover, you'll love this music... some songs I even knew... I sang along with the movie... Like it had some of Beyonce's top single... It was just... I really LOVED IT!!!! But in this movie... it had such a really good meaning behind the story, sure it was kind of romantic... but still this musical taught a really good lesson to: 1. Everybody deserves to be loved 2. Don't just a book behind it's cover 3. Take your chance, because you never know what's really going to happen... For fans of Frozen, animated films, musicals, or for people who just want to watch a sentimental movie... well this is PERFECT for you!!! Hope you enjoy!!!

This movie was amazing, I love everything about it. The characters, setting and message were great, the songs were the best part to listen to. I would recommend this movie for someone who loves excitement, comedy and music. This movie is (much) better than Frozen!
