I'm surprised that the world premier for The Smurfs was in Spain since the Smurfs are originally from Belgium. That'd be a little like the world premier for the new Donald Duck movie being in Mexico.Almost 13 years agobear added a new comment in
This 639 year long song was written by John Milton Cage Jr. The same guy wrote a "song" called 4'33" (4 minutes and 33 seconds). During that whole "song," not a single note is played. That's right, you sit to see an orchestra play and they do nothing. He's a bit of a strange guy. But, as the article says, even he wouldn't have guessed that someone was going to make his song play for 639 years.Almost 13 years agobear replied to a comment in
But then you'd have to look for the world's tallest man to date. Where's the fun in that?Almost 13 years agobear replied to a comment in
The 12 pounds in what got me too. I wonder how she opens doors! That's be like me trying to open a door 24 feet tall and 8 feet wide.Almost 13 years agobear replied to a comment in
You know how Florida is still pretty warm this time of year? Well, way up north in Sweden, it gets super cold, every year, in like October. The snow won't even melt until May. So they just wait until their really long winter starts, and it's cold for months after that.Almost 13 years agobear replied to a comment in
Were you REALLY surprised that the younger great apes were better with technology than their parents? I'm sure some of you have mothers like mine who need help to find the right button to switch between cable and the Blue Ray player. And exactly how many of your grandparents have smartphones? Young people adapt more quickly to technology, it's nice to see that orangutans are like us this way.About 13 years agobear replied to a comment in
Bad news: The pigs will safely keep the birds' eggs on these primates' iPads. You missed the part where they said: "[T]he article [about Angry Birds] was meant to be an April Fool's joke" Towards the end of this article, they said that only some of the apes have figured out the apps for "finger painting, Koi Pond, Magic Piano, Fish Farm."About 13 years agobear added a new comment in
Relevant: On "Food Network Chalenge," they once decided to make a bunch of chefs create "Flying Sugar Machines" where people made flying machines, out of candy, from scratch. They were impressive, and I bet the best results are shown inAbout 13 years agobear replied to a comment in
Forget about rain, would you really want to eat them once you've had your stinky, sweaty feet in them all day? I wonder if they're strong enough to wear? Candy canes break pretty easily, but Jolly Ranchers are pretty strong... I think Miss Spucci needs to do a nice science experiment testing the strength of candy structures. Yep.About 13 years agobear replied to a comment in
Of COURSE more are going to fall, there are tons of satellites orbiting the earth. Most of them will burn up as they fall to the earth and be little more than a pretty trail of sparks for amateur astronomers to see. What was unique about this case was that we weren't sure where the satellite was going to fall. Normally NASA can pinpoint the area one of these bad boys will fall to within a football field or two. It's pretty crazy to think that this was only a 6 year old satellite. I'd have thought they would last a lot longer than that.About 13 years ago
