The BFG (2016)
The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, or any of the other giants—rather than the BFG—she would have soon become breakfast. When Sophie hears that the giants are flush-bunking off to England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!

- Before I start I will warn you that this review CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! I recently watched the BFG and loved it! Sophie (the main character) and the BFG (the big friendly giant) were super lovable and gave a great example of unexpected friendships. This movie told a wonderful story about the BFG and Sophie who meet after Sophie sees the BFG spreading dreams in the witching hour of the night. After taking Sophie with him to Giant Country, and bringing her along to catch dreams to spread, the other 8 mean, children eating, giants realize that the BFG has a kid with him. Sophie and her giant friend then go to the Queen of England for help to get rid of the bad giants. After asking the Queen for help, the evil giants were taken to a place where they couldn't cause much trouble again. This movie may have had a few slow parts, but I still loved it. The special effects and settings were beautiful and the plot was sad, fun, and quite funny all at once. In conclusion, the BFG was a great film that I really liked. This movie is sure to be a family favorite and I recommend it to all ages.
- spider2001almost 8 yearsThe BFG was a fun movie to watch. I enjoyed the special effects as well. However, the pacing of this movie dragged. About the first hour of this movie I was still waiting for something to happen. Then, something does. I wasn't thrilled about this film, but I did like the special effects. Steven Spielberg directed this movie, with John Williams as the composer. These are two people that I've admired for a long time. But for some reason, I couldn't feel the music in this one. John Williams is known for his incredible scores that get stuck in peoples heads, such as Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. For this film, I felt that the music just dragged with the other parts of the film. For a movie, the background music is there to keep it going when there's not as much going on on the screen. It's there to add suspense to the big events happening on the screen as well. I didn't feel that this score did that. However, the movie does eventually pick itself up. This wasn't a serious film, it was a fun film. Just a movie that you watch, and it makes you feel good about yourself. It's an okay family friendly film for all ages to enjoy. I think you should watch this film, because it's worth watching. Just beware that the beginning starts off a little slow. However, It does eventually pick up.
